This story is so sad and aggravating because everyone knows why it occurred.
Family slain off Fla. highway identified
FORT PIERCE, Fla. - A family of four found shot to death along an isolated stretch of highway had moved to Florida from Texas four months ago, authorities said Saturday.
The family, including two boys ages 3 and 4, was found Friday, fatally shot along Florida's Turnpike in Port St. Lucie, about 100 miles north of Miami. Investigators believe their vehicle, a 1998 four-door Jeep Cherokee, had pulled to the side of Florida's Turnpike before someone else in the vehicle shot them and drove away sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 3 a.m.
No one has been arrested, but authorities were searching for clues Saturday into the deaths, Sheriff Ken Mascara said. A search warrant was issued for the family's home in Greenacres in Palm Beach County, where they had moved in June from the Brownsville, Texas, area. Authorities also were looking for the family's black Jeep Cherokee, which had a Florida temporary license plate, Mascara said.
That was fast work, boys. Friday's mystery bodies result in a whole lot of information about them by Saturday, with a picture to boot. Even what kind of car they were driving and the status of it's tags. Authorities have even ruled out car-jacking. What could have happened here? I'm gonna take a shot in the dark here at the Scarface scenario.
Is the case worth solving? I don't know. It touches on too many hot button political issues. Drug legalization, immigration, sherriffs that have the same name as ladies' eye makeup, and government highway programs (read further down in the story), If a criminal case touches two or more political issues, it'll rarely get proper justice. Politics create their own evidentiary findings.
OJ Simpson, for example. The physical evidence said overwhelmingly guilty, but when Johnny Cochran put race and celebrity on trial, it was over.
I hope I'm wrong. That's a way too realistic view of how the world works.
