Congratulations to the Republicans on their huge victory yesterday. The only problem, as I see it, is they beat themselves. Oooh! Bullseye...in your foot. And OH! Rapture! Frank Stallone's comeback will be realized as the GOP sings "Far From Over" every day for the next 730.
Now we'll watch to see how long before the Trojan horse party, which was drunk with power even when they were out of it, rips off it's conservative costume and allows our economy and security to go the way of the Fulton County's Sheriff's Urinal where only the best worst people in the world toil for a well-earned rise in the minimum wage. I was there on business a few days ago and completely bypassed the metal detector, pockets full, as Hubie and Scooby, the nominal guardsmen, discussed the Hawks chances this year and some girl's ass.
I voted straight Republican thinking that conservatives couldn't be so pissed off at the lack of unity that they'd be willing to hold a Remax Open House to Al Qaeda for two years. At least when the sailing pieces of urban infrastructure put a large hole in my head, I'll be comforted knowing I did not vote for this. Victim/martyr status will be mine. Larry Akbar! I'll go down with all phasers set on "BLAME."
Perhaps I'm a little too risk averse and nothing of consequence will happen. Maybe two years to me seems like a long time because it took Clear Channel less time to rape and murder the Regular Guys Show after signing an agreement not to. Maybe it'll just be an issue of Lite Butter or Kettle? before settling in to watch our new overlords make fools of themselves in the runup to 2008. That's going to happen for sure. I'm just not sure what the price is of that entertainment. What are we willing to pay for the privilege of teaching seasoned GOP strategists to sack up and stop trying to make everyone like you?
So tell me. If you voted Democrat yesterday, whether you're a liberal or conservative, I'm curious to hear the logic. No commentary from me. I'll just post the comments and let them speak for themselves. I still love you all equally, although some more equally than others. Vaya con dios!
